Job summary

DoorDash for Business is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a pod of 8–10 engineers responsible for high-impact order-to-admin systems, catering, and budget tools. You will own a critical charter and drive technical direction, roadmaps, and reliability in a globally distributed product.

You will hire and grow the team, partner with Product, Design, and Sales Strategy & Operations, and shape architecture across US and international markets. Hybrid role in NY Metro area.

Qualifications

• Have 2+ years managing engineers (including hiring and performance management).
• Shipped and operated production systems at scale.
• Led work spanning multiple teams or geographies.
• Set direction under ambiguity and decompose broad charters into roadmaps.
• Own outcomes and measure impact on customers and business.
• Care about craft and operational excellence: testing, observability, on‑call load, debt reduction.
• Communicate clearly with non‑engineering partners: Product, Design, Sales, Operations, Finance.

Responsibilities

• Own a business-critical charter end to end: set direction, roadmap, and ship quality software.
• Build and grow your team: hire, level up, and retain engineers; define bar for performance.
• Work on a genuinely global product and decide what’s built globally vs regionally.
• Take on real architectural weight: consolidate onto a single global stack and define ownership lines.
• Raise the operational bar: on‑call health, incident response, reliability investments.
• Partner directly with go‑to‑market teams to align platform capabilities with enterprise needs.
