Job summary

DAT is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead Broker Tech and drive the automation layer for pricing, matching, onboarding, booking, tracking, and settlement of freight. You will steer 1–2 engineering teams (US-based staff and contractors) and own end-to-end delivery of critical systems.

In this role, you’ll mentor engineers, balance delivery velocity with team health, and influence architecture while collaborating with Product Management to translate roadmaps into shipped features.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Ability to lead 1–2 engineering teams and contractors.
• Experience delivering features end-to-end from planning to maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery: sprint planning, backlog refinement, forecasting, and commitments.
• Lead people side: 1:1s, performance reviews, growth plans, hiring.
• Oversee contractor teams to meet same delivery and quality standards.
• Weigh in on architecture and cross-team dependencies.
• Uphold engineering standards and practices across the team.
• Partner with Product to translate roadmap into shipped work.
• Share knowledge to avoid single points of failure.
