Job summary

Firestorm is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Software Test & Automation for aircraft software. You will grow the team, own how software is tested for release, and build the test capability needed to increase coverage while keeping release cycles fast.

The role requires 8+ years in software/test engineering, leadership experience, and strong skills in SIL/HIL/VIL environments, CI/CD, and test automation. Based in San Diego, CA with relocation support available.

Qualifications

8+ years of software, systems, integration, or test engineering experience.
3+ years leading engineering teams and delivering complex tests.
Experience owning integration and release testing for software-intensive systems.
Strong skills in test planning, coverage, defect management and release reporting.
Experience with SIL, HIL, VIL, simulation or similar test environments.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional test efforts and drive issues to closure.

Responsibilities

Lead Software Test & Automation for aircraft software testing.
Define test plans, coverage, entry/exit criteria, defects, and release reporting.
Drive end-to-end integration testing across SIL, HIL, VIL, and flight-representative environments.
Scale test automation to Increase coverage and reduce manual effort.
Own the test capability roadmap and identify gaps in environments and tooling.
Build reliable test infrastructure for configuration, execution, observation, and reporting.
