Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the test team to lead the development and implementation of comprehensive testing strategies for Flight and Ground software across all-digital and hardware-in-the-loop environments, serving as a senior technical reviewer and mentor for code changes.

You will collaborate with Flight, Ground, and GN&C software groups to provide thorough tests before launch, mentor junior engineers, and drive the testing organization’s strategic direction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field with a strong portfolio
• 5 to 8+ years of formal software testing experience
• Proven leadership in software testing initiatives and project delivery
• Strong C/C++ and Python skills with Linux experience
• Experience with Agile, Git workflows, and test automation/CI/CD
• Ability to mentor peers and drive technical initiatives

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of complex test procedures for all-digital and hardware-in-the-loop environments
• Architect and develop robust frameworks for automated test case execution and reports
• Mentor team members and review Merge/Pull Requests as a senior reviewer
• Design and implement comprehensive unit test strategies
• Ensure compliance with customer test requirements and provide guidance on implementations
• Develop documents for requirements, designs, plans, and schedules with maintainability in mind
• Communicate milestones and risks to stakeholders and propose mitigations
• Champion software engineering processes and drive continuous improvement
