Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the test team to lead development and implementation of comprehensive testing strategies for Flight and Ground software used on launch vehicles and spacecraft. You will work within the Aerospace Software Engineering Group, collaborating with Flight, Ground, and Guidance, Navigation and Control teams to ensure robust testing before flight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 5–8+ years of formal software testing experience.
• Proven leadership in testing initiatives and project delivery.
• Strong C/C++ and Python expertise with mentoring ability.
• Extensive Linux development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Agile software development and leadership of practices.
• Proficiency with Git workflows on commercial software products.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of complex test procedures in all-digital and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Architect and develop robust frameworks to automate test execution and reporting.
• Mentor team members and review Merge/Pull Requests as a senior technical reviewer.
• Design and implement comprehensive unit test strategies.
• Ensure compliance with customer test requirements and provide guidance on implementations.
• Develop documents for requirements, designs, plans, and schedules for maintainability.
