Job summary

Edison Scientific seeks an Engineering Manager to lead and scale the cloud team, focusing on deploying our autonomous scientific discovery platform within client cloud infrastructure. You will mentor engineers, own BYOC deployment strategies, and drive cross-functional collaboration with enterprise clients.

The role requires strong leadership, cloud engineering experience across AWS/GCP, and hands-on IaC/GitOps proficiency.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience managing an engineering team and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Prior experience working with enterprise clients.
• Proficiency in at least one systems or backend language for operator development and infrastructure tooling.
• Deep familiarity with cloud products (AWS/GCP) and deployment operations.
• Strong understanding of application network architecture (VPCs, DNS, secrets, proxies).
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane) and GitOps workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the cloud team (5-person) and mentor engineers.
• Own client interactions around deployments and onboarding for enterprise clients.
• Partner with delegation teams to set delivery timelines and requirements for inflight engagements.
• Develop a strategy for secure BYOC deployments and scalable operations.
• Diagnose bottlenecks in BYOC processes to streamline operations.
• Create technical and people strategies to scale engagement capacity.
• Own technical decisions around BYOC product and related tooling.
• Coordinate cross-functional communication between engineering teams and stakeholders.
