Job summary
Edison Scientific is seeking a Software Engineer for the Cloud team to design, build, and operate deployments that run in client cloud infrastructures (AWS/GCP). You will own architecture and operations of our BYOC product, collaborating with a small team to scale for enterprise clients with strong security and reliability requirements.
Ideal candidates have 4+ years building backend or infra systems, solid Python skills, and hands-on IaC/GitOps experience.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience building and operating backend or infrastructure systems in production.
- Proficiency in Python for backend development and infrastructure tooling.
- Deep familiarity with cloud products (AWS/GCP), security, and deployment operations.
- Strong understanding of application network architecture including VPCs, DNS, secrets, proxies, etc.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane) and GitOps workflows.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with enterprise clients.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate the systems that deploy within client cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
- Develop operators, infrastructure tooling, and automation for BYOC deployments.
- Support client deployments and onboarding with enterprise clients' security teams.
- Collaborate with FDE team to scope requirements and deliver inflight engagements.
- Diagnose bottlenecks in BYOC processes to expand capacity and reliability.
- Contribute to architectural decisions for the BYOC product and improve security.
