Job summary

Google seeks an Engineering Manager to lead software engineers developing embedded software, diagnostics, and tools to validate custom SoCs, servers, and SmartNICs. You will guide engineers across teams and locations, manage a large product budget, and oversee multi-site deployments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of software development experience.
3 years with embedded operating systems.
3 years in a technical leadership role.
2 years in people management or team leadership.
Experience with embedded systems and Linux.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a high-performing team: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
Drive the technical goal and roadmap for software, automation, and diagnostics used in machine management, health testing, and lifecycle management.
Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) excellence: Lead your team's efforts in the New Product Introduction process.
Technical leadership and direct contribution: Provide technical guidance in system design, code reviews, and complex problem solving.
Optimize system health and repair strategies: Drive data insights to understand complex result sets from diagnostics.
