Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale, CA is hiring an Engineering Manager for the Embedded Automotive Platforms team. You will lead a US-based team building portable libraries and APIs that bridge Wayve’s autonomy stack with vehicle platforms, while remaining hands-on roughly 40% of the time.

You will drive deliveries across Linux/QNX environments and automotive SoCs, with a focus on safety-certified core libraries and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and developing software engineers with delivery ownership.
• Strong background in embedded software development for automotive.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Rust for high-performance embedded apps.
• Experience delivering software in safety/quality-conscious environments (ISO26262, FuSA).
• Ability to collaborate across teams and time zones.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow an embedded software team in the US; plan for headcount growth.
• Own the team roadmap; align priorities with stakeholders and track milestones.
• Develop portable core libraries and platform abstractions for vehicle compute.
• Adapt and integrate reference platforms across Linux/QNX and SoCs.
• Ensure FuSA-certified core production libraries.
• Coach engineers; maintain high standards for quality and delivery.
• Stay hands-on: contribute to architecture, review code, and implement critical components.
