Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required or strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with an electrical distribution system, preferably in a cooperative environment.
• Licensed Professional Engineer is desirable.
• Valid IL driver's license.
• Strong knowledge of sound engineering principles as they apply to electric utilities.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise engineering reports, studies and investigations.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, exercise judgment, and decide.
• Ability to plan, schedule and direct activities of others.
• Demonstrated initiative and team cooperation.
• Willingness to learn and apply Cooperative policies, standards and methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Reviews substation readings, SCADA data, and field input to pinpoint problems and improve reliability.
• Develops specifications, evaluates quotes, and recommends equipment purchases for transformers, regulators, and SCADA equipment.
• Collaborates with operations to plan alternate feed arrangements and switching for voltage conversion and power restoration.
