Job summary

Affirm is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead Developer Environments. You will own the end-to-end platform powering ephemeral dev environments, test execution, and automation, partnering with CI/CD, infrastructure, security, and product teams.

You will guide architecture, scale, and reliability while mentoring engineers and driving a culture of ownership and excellence in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in engineering management.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in infrastructure, platform engineering, or developer productivity.
• Strong backend/infrastructure technical background and architecture guidance.
• Experience with cloud-native systems (AWS, Kubernetes) and IaC practices.
• Hands-on familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the vision for Developer Environments and inner-loop productivity.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, aligning priorities with product and reliability goals.
• Own design, scalability, and reliability of ephemeral development environments and related tooling.
