Job summary

Affirm is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead their Developer Environments team in San Jose, California. This role is pivotal for enhancing developer productivity by overseeing the design and operation of systems that support developer environments. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of software engineering experience, including 2 years in management, as well as strong knowledge in backend systems and CI/CD practices. Affirm offers a remote-first work culture, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits, with a salary range of $200,000 – $275,000 depending on location.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years of engineering management experience.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the vision for Developer Environments and inner-loop developer productivity.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring collaboration and technical excellence.
• Own the design and scalability of systems powering Affirm's developer environments.
