Mueller Brass Company in Port Huron, MI, seeks an Engineering Director to plan, direct, and coordinate the engineering department to design, manufacture, and test components, products, and tooling.

You will lead design changes, oversee cost estimates, manage budgets, and supervise hiring and training of staff, while collaborating with management, production, and marketing to meet customer demands.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum of seven years related engineering experience.
• 6-Sigma, SPC certificates.
• Lean Management is preferred but not required.
• Blueprint reading and measurement tools proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Directs department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
• Provides cost estimates for production parts.
• Directs and coordinates activities of engineering personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within prescribed budgets.
• Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
• Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
• Reviews and approves design changes. Works with designers to meet design standards.
• Directs purchasing activities for tooling and outside services.
• May perform some duties of process, mechanical, and electrical engineering in their absence.
• Utilize CMMS to understand unplanned equipment downtime, implement predictive maintenance solutions, and optimize performance.
