Job summary

Mueller Brass Forging Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and testing of components and tooling. You will direct the engineering team, coordinate with production and marketing, oversee budgets, and ensure projects meet timelines.

Proficiency with CMMS and blueprint reading is required. This on-site role is based in Port Huron, MI and emphasizes cost-effective, reliable engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a four-year college or university, or minimum seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Blueprint reading is a must; experience with handheld measuring instruments is required.
• Six Sigma and SPC knowledge; Lean management preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Directs department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
• Provides cost estimates for production parts.
• Directs and coordinates activities of engineering personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within prescribed budgets.
• Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
• Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
• Reviews and approves design changes. Works with designers to meet design standards.
• Directs purchasing activities for tooling and outside services.
• May perform some duties of process, mechanical, and electrical engineering in their absence.
• Utilize CMMS to understand unplanned downtime, implement predictive maintenance solutions, and optimize performance.
