Salary: $170,000-$200,000 base + bonus
Sector: Data Center Liquid Cooling / Thermal Management
Company Overview
We're partnering with a multi-billion dollar, well-established industrial manufacturer to search for an engineering manager covering its data center liquid cooling portfolio. This role owns the technical direction for fluid connection and fluid movement technologies, including couplings, hose assemblies and pumps, supporting the business’s rapid growth with OEMs and data center infrastructure customers.
Key Responsibilities
The Technical Lead is responsible for a team of engineers across design, test and project management, and reports into the senior business leader for the data center business.
- Set technical strategy, specifications, performance criteria and validation plans.
- Lead development from concept through qualification, industrialization and commercialization, balancing performance, cost, quality, timing and manufacturability.
- Act as the senior technical interface with CDU manufacturers, OEMs, integrators and strategic customers, translating cooling architectures into product and performance requirements.
- Define and oversee qualification, durability and reliability testing, and lead failure analysis, root-cause investigation and corrective action.
- Partner with Product Management, R&D, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain to deliver launch readiness and scalable products.
- Monitor liquid cooling, direct-to-chip and fluid-transfer technology developments, and contribute to technology roadmaps, IP development and technical training.
- Lead, coach and develop engineers, setting priorities, allocating resources and managing performance across multiple concurrent programs.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Fluid/Systems Engineering or a related discipline. Master’s degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of engineering, product development or application engineering experience in pump technology, hose and coupling technologies, fluid-transfer systems, engineered assemblies or thermal management products.
- Demonstrated engineering people leadership, including setting priorities, developing talent and managing performance.
- Strong product design, testing, validation and reliability knowledge, including failure analysis and corrective action.
- Direct experience with data center, CDU, direct-to-chip, immersion or other mission-critical liquid cooling applications is preferred.
- Knowledge of quick disconnect couplings, sealing technologies and hose assemblies, and/or electric or variable-speed pumps, motors, controls and communication protocols (e.g. CAN, Modbus).
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally; including monthly visits to manufacturing facility.
(To be considered for this position, you must have a demonstrable background in fluid-transfer or pump technology, ideally within data center liquid cooling or a comparable mission-critical thermal environment)
