Job summary

Zelis Healthcare, LLC is hiring a Manager, Software Engineering to lead the Cost Engine API/backend. You will code alongside engineers and drive technical health and people growth, partnering with Product, Scrum, and Architecture to deliver reliable software.

In this player-coach role, you balance shipping features with platform reliability, security, and observability while guiding modernization and AI-assisted productivity improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on coding ability.
• People leadership experience managing, coaching, and developing engineers.
• Depth in C# / .NET building and operating production REST APIs and backend services.
• Experience with SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL and AWS cloud-hosted services.
• Comfort operating in an Agile environment with sprints and PI planning.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage, coach, and develop the team through regular 1:1s and career growth conversations.
• Own hiring, promotion input, and pay decisions for your team in line with company practice.
• Set technical direction with architecture and maintain engineering standards.
