Job summary

Zelis Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Software Cost Engineer to analyze, implement, validate, and optimize cost-processing solutions within the Cost Engine platform. The role emphasizes expertise in C#, Rust, SQL, JSON, and EDI transactions for healthcare pricing and data workflows.

You will partner with product owners and engineers to deliver robust, scalable software across enterprise systems, focusing on performance, security, and reliability in a hybrid Massachusetts environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of relevant work experience in software cost/ healthcare tech.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Rust and strong SQL/NoSQL skills.
• Experience with EDI transactions, healthcare pricing, and data workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, implement, validate, and optimize cost-processing software within the Cost Engine platform.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database solutions for high-volume processing.
• Design and implement APIs and data integrations using JSON.
• Support EDI transaction processing and data exchanges.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term technical strategy.
• Ensure performance, scalability, security, and reliability of applications.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to engineers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
