Job summary

Verkada is seeking an experienced manager to join the Core Platform team in San Mateo. You will architect, design, and develop across a broad set of projects enabling Verkada’s OS-for-buildings.

Lead and grow a cross-functional team of frontend and backend engineers, while hands-on coding when needed. You will work closely with Product and Design to ship highly polished features, drive best practices, and steer technical direction with senior engineers and peers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years leading and inspiring an engineering team.
• 8+ years in software engineering across backend and frontend.
• Experience in an agile software development environment.
• Strong attention to design detail and product polish.
• Knowledge of at least one server-side framework and a database system.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects for the Command product, coordinating frontend and backend engineers.
• Write code or prototype new features when needed.
• Inspire and grow the team with high-quality, polished work.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to ship features that delight users.
• Partner with engineering leaders to set goals, priorities, and processes.
• Drive code quality, standards, and development methodologies.
• Stay current with new technologies and mentor the web team.
