The Role:

As the Engineering Manager for Communications, you will provide strategic leadership and technical direction to a team of engineers focused on creating an effective omni-channel communication strategy and ensuring best in class deliverability on a large scale. As the Engineering Manager for Communications, you will provide strategic leadership and technical direction to a team of engineers focused on creating an effective omni-channel communication strategy and ensuring best-in-class deliverability at scale. You will drive the delivery of high-impact software solutions, collaborating closely with product managers and designers to execute on the product roadmap. This role requires a strong understanding of software development best practices, experience in leading agile teams, and a proven ability to mentor and develop engineering talent. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Your contributions will directly empower agents and significantly improve overall operational effectiveness.

What you'll do:
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software products.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and execute on the product roadmap.
  • Mentor and develop team members.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s with team members to provide feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Drive progress based on individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • Lead with empathy and foster a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Responsible for recruiting, leading, developing, and growing the engineering team.
  • Work with the team to identify and solve technical challenges.
  • Ensure that the team is following best practices for software development.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest technology trends.
  • Work with other Engineering Managers to ensure that the team is well-coordinated and aligned with the overall company goals.
  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation, providing timely response and resolution to production issues.
What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience managing others.
  • Strong technical skills and experience in one or more programming languages.
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Passionate about building high-quality software products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

$112,000 - $149,000 a year
Compensation Disclosure:This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
