Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking an Engineering Manager for CNC Machining in Huntington Beach, CA. You will lead engineering strategy, oversee large-part machining, spin forming, and bump forming operations, and manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver advanced aerospace components.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical/aerospace/manufacturing engineering, 10+ years in aerospace/defense manufacturing and 5+ years in leadership, plus ERP and CAD/CAM tools such as CATIA and Mastercam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years in aerospace or defense manufacturing and 5+ years in an engineering leadership role.
• Experience with CNC machining, spin forming, or related forming processes.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and CAD/CAM tools such as CATIA and Mastercam.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads process advancement in large-part machining, spin forming, and bump forming.
• Develops and implements robust process controls and new manufacturing methods.
• Leads CNC programming efforts to maximize machine efficiency.
• Advances engineering data systems to support insight and productivity.
• Oversees design, CNC programming, manufacturing, and project engineering teams.
• Develops personnel through mentoring and performance management.
• Coordinates staffing and execution of project plans with cost, schedule, and goals.
• Supports business development by aligning capabilities with new opportunities.
• Develops proposals and strategic plans for technology upgrades.
• Drives cross-site collaboration and standardization of tooling and docs.
