Job summary

Tyler Technologies seeks an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the Enterprise Supervision engineering team, building cloud-native solutions on AWS and maintaining an established product platform. The role partners closely with product management, architecture, and peer teams to deliver high-quality software for public safety and enterprise customers across the country.

The position is based in Modesto, CA with a hybrid schedule of 3 days on-site, and requires travel to Plano, TX up

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years leading software engineering teams.
• Hands-on background with web apps; PHP, Node.js, MySQL, REST.
• Experience with AWS serverless and container services (Lambda, SQS, RDS, ECS).
• Strong DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile practices.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel ~10% to Plano, TX.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team building and maintaining Enterprise Supervision features on an AWS-native platform.
• Partner with product management, architecture, platform operations, and support.
• Coach engineers through regular one-on-ones and career growth planning.
• Drive adoption of Agile and DevOps to improve delivery velocity and reliability.
• Balance roadmap with production support and prioritize across workstreams.
• Define and track KPIs to measure team health and delivery.
• Contribute to cloud modernization and evolution of the product/platform.
