Job summary

DAT Freight & Analytics is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Carrier Services Board to lead a team of software engineers responsible for ingesting, processing, and publishing carrier-contributed rate data at scale.

You will drive a multi-year migration to a modern, cloud-native architecture on Kubernetes while delivering value to customers and maintaining low risk. You will partner with Product Management and mentor engineers to grow capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in an engineering management or technical lead role.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex software end-to-end from requirements through production.
• Strong working knowledge of modern product development frameworks (continuous discovery, dual-track agile).
• Hands-on experience migrating from legacy code to microservices or service-oriented architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers; manage performance.
• Own sprint planning, backlog refinement, and delivery forecasting; ensure commitments.
• Translate business goals into engineering milestones; remove blockers across teams.
• Drive high-quality engineering practices: code reviews, observability, and on-call readiness.
• Report on team health and delivery metrics to leadership.
