Job summary

Adyen seeks an Engineering Manager in Chicago to lead a team delivering the leading Card Payments platform in NORAM. You will shape the technical direction, drive scalable and resilient payment capabilities, and collaborate with Product Managers to deliver core functionality across Visa, Mastercard, and Amex.

You will champion an inclusive culture, coach engineers, and guide architectural decisions end-to-end.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in software development in a fast-paced tech environment.
Experience building payment systems or working within the card payments ecosystem is highly desirable.
Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering teams to build Adyen's Card Payments platform for NORAM.
Drive architecture decisions and ensure scalable, resilient, high-performance systems.
Coach engineers, foster psychological safety, and support long-term career growth.
Partner with Product Managers to translate business priorities into scalable technical solutions.
