Job summary
AAK Newark in Newark, NJ, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead CAPEX projects and ensure reliable utilities, facilities, and automation. You will manage a cross-functional team to deliver safe, compliant, and sustainable operations aligned with business goals.
The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 10+ years in manufacturing, and strong leadership, with experience in GMP/OSHA/ISO and CMMS/SCADA/PLC/DCS. PMP or related certification is a plus.
Qualifications
- 10+ years engineering experience in manufacturing or regulated environments
- Experience leading CAPEX projects from budgeting to handover
- Proficiency with CMMS, SCADA, and PLC/DCS systems
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management
- Knowledge of GMP/OSHA/ISO and EHS requirements
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end CAPEX program from concept to handover
- Oversee operation/maintenance of site utilities systems
- Develop and implement automation controls across the site
- Ensure facilities meet safety/regulatory standards
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering team
- Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and codes
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, EHS, and Supply Chain
- Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions
- Identify and manage engineering risks
- Drive sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives
