Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience shipping production-grade backend systems at scale.
• Strong backend and cloud infra foundation; comfortable with architecture and design decisions.
• Experience partnering with PM, Design, and cross-functional leaders.
• Excellent communicator; able to set clear goals and align stakeholders across an org.
• Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow the engineering team: hire, mentor, and develop backend and AI engineers.
• Drive velocity and engineering health; improve processes, code reviews, and ways of working.
• Set direction with product and design; align roadmaps and ownership.
• Shape agentic tax workflows and technical direction for future tax automation.
• Scope AI features end-to-end with Labs/Research teams.
• Remove blockers across the org and scale processes.
• Develop domain depth in the tax ecosystem and automation opportunities.
