Job summary

Handshake seeks an Engineering Manager to own our Quality team. This role leads quality engineering systems that improve AI output reliability, evaluation accuracy, and benchmark performance for frontier lab partners.

You will build and scale an organization across two distinct technical domains, partner with stakeholders to prioritize platform investments, and drive cross-team technical strategy to move fast on shared infrastructure. Location: San Francisco, CA.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience, incl. 3+ years leading teams of 8+ people.
• Background at AI-centric product companies with emphasis on model quality, data pipelines, evaluation.
• Strong product engineering instincts to lead complex user-facing systems.
• Experience leading teams with meaningfully different technical focuses simultaneously.
• Proven track record growing senior ICs, EMs, and leads.
• Strong prioritization and stakeholder management.
• Clear, direct communicator bridging tech and business.
