Gem is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our AI Products engineering team in San Francisco. You will oversee AI-powered product experiences and drive the roadmap with Product and Design.

You will own AI quality end-to-end, balance fast experimentation with reliability, and model ownership and accountability as part of Gem's values. Office-based at SF HQ, not eligible for full-time remote work.

Role Details

• Location: This role is based 3 days per week out of our San Francisco, HQ and is not eligible for full-time remote work.
• Compensation:The annual cash compensation range for this position is $242,000-$262,000 in addition to equity & benefits.

The Team and Role

We're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our AI Products engineering team.

The AI Products team owns the AI agents and intelligence layer powering Gem's top-of-funnel products including sourcing, application review, and outbound campaigns.

The team is responsible for building AI-powered experiences, as well as defining how we measure, evaluate, and improve model quality in production.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

About You

• You have hired and managed exceptional engineering teams
• You have at least 5+ years of industry experience as a software engineer
• You have experience leading AI-powered product initiatives from prototype to production
• You care deeply about quality and understand how to build effective evaluation frameworks
• You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and bringing structure to complex technical problems
• You collaborate effectively with product managers and designers to shape roadmap and technical direction
• You demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for outcomes
