Job summary

Veracyte is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for our AI-powered Billing Automation platform. You will drive people leadership, technical direction, and delivery of secure, scalable cloud-native applications that improve laboratory billing and revenue-cycle workflows.

The role is hybrid based in San Diego, CA or South San Francisco, CA with potential remote options for the ideal candidate.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing software development teams.
Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineers while managing performance and growth.
Proven experience delivering enterprise software, including cloud-native applications, APIs, distributed systems, and integrations.
Strong knowledge of modern engineering practices: architecture, automated testing, CI/CD, IaC, security, observability, production support.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing software engineering team for the AI-powered Billing Automation platform.
Define and execute the engineering roadmap with cross-functional partners.
Deliver secure, scalable cloud-native applications and AI-enabled services for billing and revenue cycle workflows.
Define technical strategy for applying AI to billing automation with reliability, security, and compliance.
Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for intelligent automation.
