Job summary

Runway is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for the product platform and API. You will grow a high-performing team, own the API domain end-to-end, and partner with product, engineering, and finance to deliver low-latency, reliable APIs for AI-powered tools.

You’ll oversee TypeScript services in the cloud, Kubernetes-based orchestration, and data pipelines, while shaping platform strategy and cross-functional collaboration across the company.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in an engineering manager or team lead role with proven scaling of teams.
• 5+ years hands-on software engineering, esp. in cloud environments.
• Strong product sense and ability to align tech decisions with revenue and metrics.
• Experience owning revenue-generating platforms or APIs is a plus.
• Solid data engineering and analytics background with BI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Drive platform strategy and architecture for TypeScript-based API infrastructure.
• Own the public API domain end-to-end, including architecture and revenue growth.
• Manage data and analytics infrastructure for company-wide access and security.
• Lead and grow a platform engineering team of 4–6 engineers.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering to enable feature launches and integration.
• Own critical data pipelines and metrics powering finance, support, and product.
• Set priorities with leadership and align platform investments with business goals.
