Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Engineering Manager for AI Observability to lead engineers who build systems that monitor and interpret large AI datasets. You will scale existing tools and pioneer new ones, ensuring trustworthy insights and robust UX across user-facing interfaces.

You will partner with researchers and safety teams to decide what to build, mentor staff, and help drive the company’s observability strategy in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with ML systems.
• Experience leading teams and managing people.
• Familiarity with LLM application development and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of AI monitoring systems for training and deployment.
• Extend core frameworks for processing large unstructured data.
• Partner with researchers and safety teams to prioritize work.
• Develop agentic integrations for autonomous analysis and action.
• Shape strategic direction and recruit growth for the team.
• Coach reports and support professional development.
• Design effective team processes and workflows.
