Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a senior engineering leader to elevate our ChatGPT capabilities, consolidating harness and context management while expanding multi-tier model experiences.

You will drive the rollout automation, capacity planning, and health monitoring for production AI systems, working with cross‑functional partners across research, product, and engineering teams. The role emphasizes safety, scalability, and impactful user experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in complex, cross-functional environments.
• Demonstrated success shipping production systems at scale (AI or large backend services).
• Deep understanding of model-driven product development, deployment lifecycle, and measurement tooling.

Responsibilities

• Elevate and consolidate ChatGPT’s harness, context management, and system prompt frameworks.
• Drive expansion and improvement of multi-tier model experiences.
• Support and scale self-serve experiment capabilities and automated guardrails.
