Qualifications

• 4+ years as people manager or technical leader of software engineering teams delivering customer-facing or compliance-critical software products.
• 8-12+ years of hands-on software development experience, with backend systems; fintech or regulated domains a strong plus.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, empower engineers, and cultivate team culture while managing multiple workstreams and deadlines.
• Expertise in the software design/architecture process.
• Hands-on experience while managing.
• Frontend technologies experience.
• Agile development and SaaS experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferably experience working with global teams.
• Deep fintech domain expertise: building high-availability, fault-tolerant platforms in fintech/tax domains.
• Large-scale team leadership, including managers/tech leads, across multi-system initiatives.
• AI-first mindset and execution: using AI tools to drive efficiency and innovation.
• Strong technical architecture background: distributed backend systems, microservices, SaaS.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of engineers responsible for indirect tax determination, calculation, and e-filing systems.
• Bring customer-driven software products to market that simplify current needs while building for the future.
• Create a shared vision and align cross-functional partners across the business.

• Champion engineering best practices—code quality, testing, and architecture reviews—with hands-on guidance.
• Drive AI-native engineering by adopting GenAI platforms and AI-assisted workflows.
• Scale and direct multi-pod teams to maintain operational excellence and high execution standards.
