Job summary

WellSky is hiring an Engineering Manager in Overland Park, KS, to lead a software engineering team delivering high-quality solutions for the PACF unit. You will drive architecture, practices, and delivery while fostering a collaborative culture in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on IBM i, RPGLE, and DB2 SQL experience, and proficiency with AI tools like Claude Code. You will work onsite with a focus on secure, scalable cloud-native systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 4–6 years of related work experience and 3+ years in technical leadership.
• Strong knowledge of IBM i, RPGLE, DB2 SQL and full-stack application development.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar AI tooling.
• Understanding of Application Security principles including OAuth2 and DevOps/CI-CD practices.
• Experience with Agile teams rolling out software versioning and hot fixes for client requirements.
• Knowledge of cloud native technologies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, and execute engineering projects to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
• Provide technical leadership to shape architecture, design, and implementation with best practices.
• Continuously assess and improve engineering processes from development workflows to deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with solution managers, designers, and other leaders to define requirements and address blockers.
• Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and drive career growth.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and data-informed outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
