Job summary

Augment is building AI teammates — not tools — that work alongside operations, logistics, and customer support teams to automate complex workflows. As Engineering Manager, you'll lead a high-performing team, stay hands-on with architecture decisions, and collaborate with Product and cross-functional partners to ship reliable systems.

You'll shape the technical direction, mentor engineers, and recruit talent while balancing delivery with long-term platform quality in a hybrid SF office setup.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in engineering leadership or people management.
• Strong background in distributed systems and backend services.
• Experience leading teams in fast-moving, high-growth environments.
• Ability to balance hands-on coding with team leadership and execution.
• Strong communicator able to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid SF office setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a high-performing team of engineers through coaching and career development.
• Drive technical execution on key product and platform initiatives, delivering high-quality, reliable systems.
• Stay hands-on when needed—participate in architecture reviews and write production code.
• Partner with Product, AI, and Ops to define roadmaps and align priorities.
• Contribute to hiring and onboarding to scale the engineering organization.
