Job summary

DRT Aerospace in Winsted, CT is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing engineering for aerospace machining. You will mentor a team of engineers, drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and align engineering priorities with business goals.

This high-impact role focuses on improving productivity, quality, and delivery while supporting NPI and capital projects. You’ll build capability through training, champion safety and compliance with AS9100, and partner with cross-functional leaders

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.
7+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in aerospace, CNC machining, precision machining, or advanced manufacturing.
3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, machining, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers and technical professionals.
Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and cost.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production readiness activities.
Lead capital equipment and automation projects and analyze production data for improvements.
Ensure compliance with AS9100 and aerospace customer requirements.
