Job summary

Seven Seas Water Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Project, Process, and EI&C engineers who design water treatment plants, build, own and operate them. This hybrid role is based in Tampa with 10-20% travel domestically and internationally.

You will own the engineering schedule, drive early warnings, and coordinate checks across disciplines while mentoring engineers and shaping the capacity plan to meet project goals.

Engineering Manager — Lead the team that keeps our water treatment plants engineered right and on schedule

Seven Seas Water Group is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Project, Process, and EI&C Engineers who design the water treatment plants we build, own, and operate, primarily seawater and brackish water reverse osmosis (SWRO/BWRO) systems for municipal and industrial customers across the U.S. and international markets. You'll make sure engineering never holds up procurement or construction, and you'll build the team and capacity strategy that makes that possible. This is a hybrid role based in our Tampa office, with 10-20% domestic and international travel.

What You'll Own

You'll own the engineering schedule on every project, planning drawings, Bills of Quantities, control system deliverables, and procurement packages backward from the project timeline so long-lead items release early and construction never waits on engineering. You'll run the department on early warning, tracking deliverables against plan and bringing options, not surprises, when risk shows up. You'll also coordinate cross-disciplinary checks among process, mechanical, and EI&C engineering, partner with our 3D Plant Design group, and facilitate HAZOPs and design reviews early enough to shape the outcome.

You’ll be the quality gate for everything that leaves the department, in-house or subcontracted, holding every deliverable to SSWG's engineering standards. That means owning the department's capacity plan: forecasting demand across projects and pursuits, and flexing a mix of core staff, lump-sum engineering subcontracts, and contract engineers to absorb the inevitable lumpiness in workload without carrying dead headcount or burning out your team.

Just as much, this is a people role. You'll mentor each engineer with real development plans, match people to projects deliberately, and build a team culture where problems surface early. You'll lead as a working manager, technically credible enough to jump into a P&ID or a calculation review and make the call yourself when it matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 8 to 12 years of engineering experience in a project-execution or system-integration environment; water treatment experience strongly preferred, SWRO/BWRO experience a plus
• A track record of delivering engineering scope on schedule in a project-driven environment
• 5+ years managing engineers, with a demonstrable record of developing people
• Experience managing engineering subcontracts and contract labor, including scoping lump-sum packages and holding outside firms to a quality standard
• Ability to read, check, and approve P&IDs, PFDs, GAs, specifications, and calculations across process, mechanical, and EI&C disciplines
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule from our Tampa office, with 10-20% domestic and international travel

A PE license and PMP certification are a plus, as is Spanish language ability and experience with ERP-driven project execution (IFS Cloud or similar).
