Job summary

Coram AI in Sunnyvale is seeking an engineering leader to head our California-based team. You will shape strategy for the edge AI platform, cloud infrastructure, and customer‑facing engineering, staying close to code through architecture, reviews, and debugging.

This role requires a Staff or senior IC background with proven management experience, plus strong hiring credentials and deep knowledge in distributed/real-time systems, robotics/AI, or HPC.

• Collaborate closely with CTO, CEO, and Product to shape direction and execution.

The Role

Lead our entire California engineering team as the engineering leader for our Sunnyvale office. Your team owns critical parts of our edge AI platform, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing engineering. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role: you'll set direction and grow the team, but stay close to the code through architecture, review, and debugging. You'll start managing the engineers, growing significantly within a year as we scale 2–3x, and work directly with the CTO, CEO, and Product.

What We're Looking For

• Reached Staff / very senior IC level and spent a couple of years there before moving into management (typically after ~4–5 years engineering).

• Current or prior experience managing engineers (Tech Lead Manager or Engineering Manager).

• Deep strength in at least one of: distributed / real‑time systems (e.g. C++), robotics / AI, or HPC.

• Time inside an established top‑tier engineering culture with exposure to how a 50–100+ person org operates.

• A strong hiring track record and a high bar for what "great" looks like.

• Still genuinely hands‑on and motivated by ownership, impact, and shaping the product.
