Job summary

CES/ARROW in Lansing, MI is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering department, guide new program launches, and drive manufacturing process development to meet quality and schedule targets.

You will collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, suppliers, and customers to deliver world-class manufacturing solutions, champion Lean initiatives, and optimize uptime, cycle times, and scrap reduction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Automotive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Lean practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team
  • Manage the APQP process from quotation through production launch
  • Oversee new product launches and manufacturing process development
  • Develop and maintain Process Flow Charts
  • Develop and maintain Process FMEAs
  • Develop and maintain Control Plans
  • Develop and maintain Process Sheets
  • Conduct Capability Studies
  • Coordinate Prototype Programs
  • Perform Feasibility Reviews
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and cross-functional teams
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Improve machine uptime, cycle times, tooling life, and overall production efficiency
  • Reduce scrap and improve manufacturing quality
  • Manage engineering projects while ensuring timelines and budgets are achieved
  • Support supplier evaluations and tooling implementation
  • Develop engineering procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Coach and train engineers, technicians, and production support personnel
  • Support customer product development and engineering changes

What You'll Do

As the Engineering Manager, you'll lead the engineering department while overseeing new program launches, manufacturing process development, APQP activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll work closely with production, quality, maintenance, suppliers, and customers to deliver world-class manufacturing solutions.
