Job summary

Prince Service & Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead production engineering across multiple projects. You will direct all engineering activities, ensure design-for-manufacturability, and align schedules with production commitments.

The role requires 7+ years in engineering leadership, strong CAD experience (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and a track record of managing external consultants. We offer comprehensive benefits and a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering management or production engineering leadership.
• 5+ years of design documentation and production drawing management.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent technical projects.
• Experience leading professional engineers or external consultants.
• Hands-on with design standards, specifications, and design reviews.
• Ability to translate customer specs into technical designs and manufacturing instructions.
• Background handling projects with stringent quality/regulatory needs.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Direct all production engineering activities including creation, review, approval, and release of drawings and specs.
• Establish and enforce design standards, conventions, naming, and documentation across projects.
• Develop and maintain engineering schedules aligned with production and delivery commitments.
• Manage relationships with external engineers and engineering consultants.
• Review external deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with standards.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory standards and customer requirements.
• Lead creation of customer submittal packages with design specs, materials, data, tests, and certifications.
• Collaborate on design-for-manufacturability and manufacturing constraints.
• Support Sales with technical input on inquiries and proposals.
• Provide regular engineering status reports to senior leadership.

Location/Schedule:

Macon, GA / 1st shift

What You’ll Do:

• Direct all production engineering activities including the creation, review, approval, and release of production drawings, assembly drawings, and technical specifications.
• Establish and enforce design standards, drawing conventions, naming protocols, and documentation requirements across all projects and product lines.
• Develop and maintain engineering schedules for all active projects; align engineering timelines with production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
• Manage relationships with external professional engineers and engineering consulting firms engaged for specialized design work, analysis, or certification.
• Review external engineering deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with company standards and customer requirements.
• Ensure all designs and engineering deliverables meet applicable regulatory standards, industry codes, and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead the creation and management of customer submittal packages, including design specifications, material selections, performance data, test results, and certifications.
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations on design-for-manufacturability assessments and manufacturing constraints.
• Support the Sales Manager by providing technical input on customer inquiries, design feasibility assessments, and project proposals.
• Provide regular engineering status reports to the Vice President of Operations including project status, schedule updates, design issues, and external engineering progress.

Who You Are:

• Minimum 7 years of engineering management, technical project management, or production engineering leadership experience
• Minimum 5 years of responsibility for design documentation, production drawing management, or engineering process control
• Proven experience managing engineering schedules, coordinating multiple concurrent technical projects, and delivering designs on schedule
• Demonstrated experience managing professional engineers or external engineering consultants; vendor and consultant management background
• Hands-on experience with design standards, specifications, production drawings, technical documentation, and design review processes
• Experience translating customer specifications and requirements into technical designs and manufacturing instructions
• Background managing design projects for customers with rigorous quality, compliance, or regulatory requirements
• Proficiency with CAD software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, or equivalent); familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) or document control systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related technical engineering discipline
