Job summary

Hydro Service & Supplies seeks an Engineering Manager to lead its Durham, NC engineering team. You will oversee design, ensure quality and schedule, and collaborate with fabrication and field service teams on complex water systems.

The role requires a hands-on leader with strong CAD proficiency, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to ASME/UL standards. On-site presence in Durham is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• Proven experience leading an engineering team in industrial equipment design or water treatment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, instrumentation/controls, and system integration.
• Experience with CAD software and engineering documentation standards.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Durham, NC.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers across mechanical, controls/instrumentation, and process disciplines.
• Oversee design and engineering of custom pretreatment, filtration, and high-purity water systems from concept through fabrication.
• Partner with project management, fabrication, and field service teams to ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget targets.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation (CAD, P&IDs, controls/programming).
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering standards, processes, and tools.
• Support proposal development and technical scoping for new projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, UL).

We design, fabricate, install, and service world-class pretreatment and filtration systems, high-purity water generation systems, storage and distribution skids, and process skids for clients across Life Sciences, Pharma/Biotech, Microelectronics, Medical, Food & Beverage, and Industrial markets.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team out of our Durham, NC headquarters. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on leader who wants to shape how we design and deliver complex, custom-engineered water systems for some of the most demanding industries in the world.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers across mechanical, controls/instrumentation, and process disciplines

What We're Looking For
