Job summary

Amplify Surgical, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead design and development of spinal instruments and implants. The role reports to the VP of Operations and drives R&D plans, design reviews, prototyping, and launches for high-quality spinal solutions.

You will manage engineers and interns, coordinate with marketing, quality, and regulatory teams, and apply SolidWorks-based design skills to create cutting-edge implants and instruments for minimally invasive spine procedures.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering, mechanical or biomechanical.
• Requires a minimum of 5 years of related work experience (prefer spine)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Experience with an orthopedic medical device company or spine experience a plus
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a start-up environment
• 3 year experience with Solidworks design software

Job description

Amplify Surgical has an immediate opening for an Engineering Manager. This highly visible position, reporting directly to the VP. Of Operations, is responsible for development, design of medical device instruments and implants. In addition, this position will be assigned quality and engineering development goals to advance the company’s high quality spinal solutions utilizing a cutting-edge implant and instrument technology.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for executing plans supporting R&D projects. The position requires strong mechanical design skills from brainstorming, design, supporting prototyping, supporting DFM, supporting regulatory, and supporting launch of product. The position also requires medical device design skills using Solidworks design software and understanding of medical device design controls. This position will require management of associate engineers to fulfill the departmental goals.
