Job summary

Magna in Bowling Green, KY seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-precision automotive engineering team. You will drive quality, cost, and schedule performance across GMAW welding, stamping, and automated assembly processes.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, program management, and collaboration with design, process, production and quality teams to deliver safe, reliable and compliant vehicle components.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • College degree is preferred for the role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Engineering Management experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of automotive engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing processes (GMAW, stamping, or automated assembly).
  • CAD experience is preferred; Catia, AutoCAD, Teamcenter advantageous.
  • Certification related to APQP, PLM, Control Plan, FMEA, and related areas is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and supports the engineering function in alignment with quality system procedures.
  • Analyzes production methods to meet time and cost goals.
  • Provides technical guidance on complex projects.
  • Establishes and maintains design control procedures for quality, reliability, and safety.
  • Collaborates with customers to ensure product conformance to requirements.
  • Implements and maintains control procedures; reports on performance and improvements.
  • Communicates with design, process, production and quality teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages and supports the engineering function and ensures the department conforms to the company quality system procedures as documented.
  • Analyzes production methods to ensure time and cost goals are reached.
  • Provides technical guidance on most complex projects.
  • Establishes and enforces procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability and safety in product designs and applications.
  • Evaluates and develops improved techniques for the control of product designs, quality, reliability and safety.
  • Works with customers to ensure products conform to their requirements and meet the customers needs.
  • Implements and maintains design control procedures, reporting on engineering performance and improvements.
  • Communicates with other engineering functions including design, process, production and quality.
What we are looking for
  • High School diploma or GED required;

  • Minimum of 10 years of automotive engineering experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment for processes related to GMAW welding, Stamping, or Automated Assembly required.

Preferred qualifications
  • CAD experience is preferred; Catia, AutoCAD, Teamcenter Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, requirements, and business correspondence.
  • Strong technical skills in automotive engineering.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management & organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment with flexibility to reprioritize, as necessary.
