Job summary

BNSF Railway is hiring an Engineering Management Trainee for the Track and Structure Engineering Team. The program blends hands-on fieldwork with strategic oversight, focusing on track maintenance, infrastructure inspection, and construction of critical railway structures.

Mentorship from experienced engineers accelerates growth toward leadership roles. Position is full-time (minimum 40 hours/wk) in a 24x7 environment with on-call, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and pursuing or holding an Engineering degree.
• Ability to travel up to 75% and relocate as required for the program.
• Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct track infrastructure to meet standards.
• Plan and schedule required maintenance and verify work quality.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Shadow roles such as Supervisor Engineering Support and Roadmaster to gain field experience.
• Contribute to safety and project oversight in a 24/7 operations environment.
