Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking an Experienced First Line Supervisor – Engineering to lead safety‑critical track and structures teams across our network. In this full‑time role you will supervise maintenance, training, and performance while coordinating with engineers and managers to improve reliability.

The position requires travel up to 75% and relocation as needed after a 4–6 month training program. Start dates include 2/9/2026; 6/1/2026; or 9/21/2026, with on‑site, 40‑hour weeks in Alliance, NE and

Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Valid Driver’s License required upon hire.
  • Willing to relocate anywhere on the BNSF Railway operating system (western 28 states).
  • Capable of working in a 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct track infrastructure to uphold standards.
  • Participate in projects related to Track infrastructure maintenance and construction.
  • Collaborate with engineers and managers to learn and implement best practices in railway engineering.
  • Gain insights into safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with cross‑functional teams to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Administer, supervise, and coordinate maintenance, construction, inspection and operation of bridges and structures.
