Job summary

Emerson is offering a co-op software/engineering pathway in Iowa for students pursuing a technical bachelor’s degree. You will lead a small engineering project or sub-workstream, coordinating across Mechanical, Electrical, and Firmware disciplines.

You will support project execution activities, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and status reporting. Emphasis on clear communication, teamwork, and delivering engineering outcomes to leadership.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical field.
• Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small, well-scoped engineering project or sub-workstream within a larger program.
• Coordinate across Mechanical, Electrical, and Firmware teams.
• Support project execution activities: planning, task breakdown, scheduling, risk mitigation and reporting.
• Drive team alignment and communication: stand-ups and action tracking.
• Contribute to engineering deliverables and apply structured processes (requirements, traceability, quality).
• Present project updates and outcomes to leadership.
