Job summary

The Colorado State University Foundation in Fort Collins is seeking a Director of Development for the Walter Scott Jr. College of Engineering to identify and solicit $50,000+ gifts. You’ll manage a donor portfolio, craft persuasive proposals, and work with cross-college partners to maximize philanthropic support.

Required: 7+ years in development or major gifts, a Bachelor’s degree, ability to travel nationwide, and a valid driver’s license. This is a full-time, exempt role in Fort Collins, CO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in development or major gifts.
• Proven success in face-to-face solicitation, cultivation, and closing gifts of $50,000+.
• Willingness to travel nationally and work non-standard hours.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts of $50,000 and above.
• Manage a donor portfolio and present comprehensive proposals.
• Collaborate with cross-college and central development teams to maximize gifts.
• Develop and steward donor relationships and maintain confidentiality.
