Job summary

Genuine Parts Company seeks an engineering leader to architect the next generation Shop Management System and Commerce platforms. You will lead a talented team, shape technology strategy, and modernize legacy supply chain tech at scale.

The role requires hands-on technologist experience, cloud-native design, API-first development, and strong collaboration with product, operations, and external partners to deliver reliable, measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering delivery experience, with 2+ years in engineering leadership.
• Proven success delivering enterprise-grade SaaS, commerce, retail, or business-management platforms.
• Strong understanding of automotive aftermarket, repair-shop operations, or related domains.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems using modern architectures, APIs, microservices, events, and cloud services.
• Experience with one or more cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, security, and data lifecycle.
• Experience integrating with commerce, catalog, pricing, payments, identity, CRM, or third-party platforms.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Strong planning and prioritization skills and ability to grow engineering talent.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering strategy, roadmap, delivery, and support for Shop Management System and services.
• Partner with Product to translate needs into prioritized platform capabilities.
• Lead end-to-end shop workflows: records, appointments, estimates, repairs, invoicing, payments, reporting.
• Drive integration with NAPA commerce, catalog, pricing, inventory, and partner platforms.
• Provide technical direction for cloud-native, API-first, event-driven solutions.
• Ensure quality through architecture reviews, automated testing, observability, and release controls.
• Be accountable for reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Modernize legacy architectures with pragmatic migration paths.
• Use data-driven insights to improve adoption, usability, and business outcomes.
• Recruit and develop high-performing engineering teams; foster ownership and collaboration.
