Job summary

Rocktop Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced engineering leader to run the day-to-day performance of our software development organization. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will own execution across multiple products and teams.

You will cut through ambiguity, manage multiple teams, and deliver major milestones while integrating AI, QA/DevOps, and infrastructure with business stakeholders. A hands-on approach helps when tackling complex problems and tight capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or closely related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years managing software development teams, including multiple teams or a full org.
• Track record managing complex multi-team projects.
• Strong command of modern SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and cloud-based app development.
• Fluency with source control, CI/CD, automated testing, code review, deployment, and monitoring.
• Hands-on coding ability to set credible expectations and engage when needed.
• Proven ability to recruit, mentor, develop, and retain engineering talent.
• Strong business judgment balancing technical quality with business priority.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Rocktop's software development teams: managers, team leads, senior developers and contributors.
• Set expectations for productivity, quality, accountability, and communication.
• Manage performance, mentoring, and career growth; build leadership under Head of Engineering.
• Identify organizational gaps and recommend hires or restructurings.
• Own day-to-day execution of the development roadmap.
• Ensure clear priorities, objectives, and realistic delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to translate requirements into plans.
• Monitor progress and surface risks and blockers early.
• Drive predictable delivery of releases and new products.
• Ensure testing, code review, documentation, deployment and release processes are followed.
• Partner with Head of Engineering to implement architecture and technical strategy.
• Promote sound engineering practices: automated testing, code review, CI/CD, monitoring.
• Identify technical debt and plan remediation.
• Build reusable, scalable components across products.
• Evaluate new technologies and tools.
• Maintain visibility into capacity and allocate resources to priorities.
• Define KPIs for delivery, quality, and team health.
• Align with Product Management to prioritize work with AI/QA/DevOps/Data/Infra.
