Job summary

Amigo is building clinical AI infrastructure in New York City and San Francisco. We seek an experienced engineering leader to drive the organization across application, backend, and data platforms, mentoring teams, and shaping a scalable architecture.

You will own the roadmap, partner with product and Applied AI teams, and champion reliability, security, and patient privacy in a clinical setting. Strong leadership and cross-functional influence are essential.

Qualifications

• Track record of engineering leadership in organizations with a strong engineering culture.
• Breadth across application, backend, infrastructure, and data platform; generalist leadership.
• Experience managing and developing engineers with examples of growth under you.
• Strong technical background for credible system design, architecture, and tradeoffs.
• Ability to translate customer needs and engineering goals into a roadmap and shipped systems.
• Excellent communication across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
• Deep sense of ownership for team outcomes and long-term system health.
• Comfort with ambiguity; priorities shift as deployments teach real user needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow engineering across application, backend, infrastructure, and data.
• Mentor engineers, provide direct feedback, and set clear technical guidance.
• Hire engineers and develop leaders, building a team that raises its bar.
• Drive execution from problem definition through deployment with reliability.
• Engage in technical discussions, guiding system design and architectural tradeoffs.
• Set engineering culture around code reviews, shipping, Done criteria, and production issues.
• Break large platform problems into increments delivering early value while guiding long-term direction.
• Partner with Applied AI, Forward Deployed, and product teams to balance platform vs bespoke work.
