Job summary

Gray Swan AI seeks an Engineering Manager, Enterprise to lead the team building and scaling the systems powering our AI security platform. You will own foundational infrastructure, backend services, and cloud architecture to enable safe deployment of frontier AI models at scale.

You'll mentor engineers, collaborate with ML, security and product teams, and shape long-term architecture while delivering reliable, secure systems in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building enterprise-scale backend infrastructure or distributed systems.
• 2+ years managing software engineering teams.
• Strong background in infrastructure, distributed systems, backend/plat‑engineering.
• Experience operating production services on Kubernetes and major clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience designing APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong focus on reliability, observability, security and performance at scale.
• Proven leadership: coaching engineers, giving feedback, building teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of infrastructure engineers.
• Set technical direction for enterprise solutions with leadership.
• Oversee design, development and operation of backend services and distributed systems.
• Guide cloud infrastructure across Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, networking, storage, compute.
• Develop internal platform services and tooling to improve productivity.
• Establish observability, incident response, deployment and operational excellence.
